We are building a world-class legal team to support Coinbase and its affiliates as we continue to expand the company and we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic intern to join the legal team for the summer.

Potential Projects & Responsibilities:
  • Research legal issues as well as corporate policies and best practices pertaining to open source licensing and patent strategy
  • Monitor and investigate third party-uses of intellectual property
  • Support the commercial team in the maintenance and review of NDA's and commercial agreements
  • Maintain IP portfolio and related records
  • Research and gather evidence to support trademark prosecution and defense
  • Participate in invention captures for and documentation for prospective patent applications

Requirements: 
  • Current second year law student
  • Demonstrated interest in Intellectual Property through law school courses and/or work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Able to think critically and come up with creative solutions
  • Enthusiastic about learning new disciplines
  • Technical background a plus
  • Interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency a plus
