Position Overview

Abra is looking for a Scrum Master to help expand its network of liquidity options around the globe. As a Scrum Master, you will lead a team using the Agile method to consistently deliver working software. This individual will work closely with the Product Manager to determine the team's deliverables for sprints and will help drive the team towards accomplishing those goals. The candidate will be accountable to test new features to ensure they meet technical requirements. The ideal candidate will not only have a strong technical background, but also have the soft skills to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions with people of varying technical abilities. Last but not least, this individual will cultivate a team culture that is both challenging and rewarding to work in.

  • Coordinate and facilitate daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives and release planning for 1-2 Scrum teams
  • Remove any obstacles that are slowing down or blocking the Scrum team
  • Test new features to ensure requirements of the feature have been met
  • Promote a team culture of communication
  • Provide visibility of team status and issues to senior management
  • Mentor team members on Agile software development principles and practices
  • Coordinate dependencies and release plans with external teams
  • Identify business and technical issues during early project scoping

Skills and Requirements
  • Comfortable working in a linux environment
  • Strong experience writing sql queries, bash scripts, and using command line tools
  • Ability to discuss technical issues and solutions clearly with people of different technical backgrounds
  • Solid understanding of Agile Development and methodologies
  • Excellent organizational, communication and diplomatic skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Flexible and easy to adapt in a dynamic working environment
  • Eager to lead as a Servant Leader
  • Prior experience doing QA is a plus
