Elliptic

We identify illicit activity on the Bitcoin blockchain and provide actionable intelligence to financial institutions and law enforcement agencies.

We believe Blockchains are the future of value transfer: Wedbush and the World Economic Forum have independently estimated that by 2025, 10% of economic activity will be on blockchains. Blockchains promise to bring a new world of value exchange; but they will also bring a new world of illicit activity.

Clients have used Elliptic to assess risk on more than $2BN in bitcoin transactions, and we have supported live investigations with law enforcement in the US, UK and EU.

“[Elliptic] will be a huge benefit to Bitcoin-related businesses attempting to decrease risk factors.” - The Telegraph

“[Elliptic’s software] is a big deal for banks” - Business Insider

What's the role? Elliptic is looking for an ambitious, passionate data professional to help expand our cutting-edge blockchain analysis platform. What you'll do: Overall you will collaborate with engineers and data scientists to develop high performance, flexible data pipelines, visualisations, and analytical systems. Research, prototype, and recommend new technologies and frameworks Help other developers - give advice, perform code reviews etc. Help to create a blockchain independent data model of cryptocurrencies, that allow us to build complex analytics across all our data sets. What is the work like? What are the challenges? Elliptic's products are at the cutting edge of blockchain analytics. That means we are often tackling difficult problems in uncharted waters. There are more ideas than we have time to work on, the upside being there is always work to do covering lots of different areas. There is lots to discuss and fascinating work is the norm - working at Elliptic is never boring!
